There are 27 schools in all: 15 Primary Schools, 13 Middle Schools, 3 High Schools, and 6 Alternative Programs/Schools. Position Description: The Peoria School District is seeking an outstanding educational leader to fill the position of Superintendent of Schools. The successful candidate will:

demonstrate leadership ability and is comfortable leading instructional initiatives

communicate openly, honestly and effectively with all stakeholders

possesses an understanding of a diverse school population and will advocate for the needs of all children in a complex community with high expectations and challenges

knowledgeable and/or experience with business management, facilities, personnel management, collective bargaining negotiations, and budgeting that exhibits fiscal responsibility and acumen through appropriate allocation of resources
-
exemplifies visible, honest, and transparent leadership that will build trust that lead to the unification of stakeholders
-
invest in the community by being visible, approachable, and actively engaged in district and community events

exert confident, decisive and resilient leadership that uses data to drive thoughtful decisions-making

Residency in the district is preferred but not required.

A leader who embraces the traditions of our past but has the vision to work with the entire school community to ensure that the future needs of all students are being met.

Collaborative leader with the willingness to empower, trust and delegate authority to the district’s leaders and staff while holding them accountable.

CEO that will work with the Board of Education through sound governance and defined roles and responsibilities.
